The Art Môtiers exhibition is a unique celebration of contemporary Swiss art. It has been held every 4 to 8 years since 1985, in the enchanting setting of the thousand-year-old village of Môtiers, in the heart of Val-de-Travers. The 2026 edition of Art Môtiers is a continuation of that tradition, but with a whole host of new features. Some forty artists from all over the country have been selected to transform the surrounding countryside once again into a unique open-air art space.
You’ll be able to stroll from exhibit to exhibit while enjoying a pleasant stroll through the village and surrounding forests, filled with stories and legends. The natural beauty of the landscape, combined with the artistic installations, creates an exceptional setting for total immersion.
The exhibition is open to both discerning art lovers and curious novices, as well as families in search of an original and enriching outing, and offers two route options, one of which is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
This year marks a big change with the arrival of the new committee! We have decided to rethink the poster concept: rather than entrusting its creation to one of the exhibiting artists, we have chosen to organise an invitation-only illustration competition. The winner worked closely with the graphic design agency SUPERO to design a 2026 poster that is relevant, unique and playful, both in terms of communication and information.
The visual and personal universe of Swiss artist Mathias Forbach, alias Fichtre, meets the graphic and typographic creativity of SUPERO.
This creation is in line with our new visual identity: an evolving system, designed to last and reinvent itself with each edition. The result is a series of three colourful posters, punctuated with signs, graphic artefacts and imaginary elements evoking the plurality of artistic practices and the natural environment of Môtiers.

Our experienced working group carefully scoured the Swiss artistic landscape to unearth a wide range of artists. Making sure of representing artistic, geographical, gender and experience diversity, it then made a shortlist, narrowing it down to around fifty artists, who were invited to submit a project.
The choice was made by a jury of nine experts, all recognised figures in the art world, and supported by a technical advisor. This rigorous process guarantees a selection of artists of the highest calibre, ensuring a high-quality exhibition.
